Tax fairs end today

The week-long tax fairs conclude today (Monday) after drawing a massive response from the taxpayers across the country.
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) held the tax fairs simultaneously in seven divisional cities and other district towns in celebration of the National Income Tax Day-2014.
Until Sunday, the NBR received Tk 13.15 billion income tax with 1,14,770 tax returns in the tax fairs across the country.
Some 5,44,633 taxpayers obtained services from the tax fairs while about 12,841 new taxpayers obtained Taxpayers Identification Number (TIN).
The NBR will organise a concluding ceremony today (Monday) on the city's Officers' Club premises at 7.0 pm. State Minister for Finance MA Mannan will be the chief guest. NBR chairman Ghulam Hussain will chair the programme. NBR member Md Bashir Uddin Ahmed will attend the ceremony as special guest.
