TCB should sell products from designated shops

Saturday, 16 April 2022

The prices of almost all essential commodities are still high, making it difficult for the common people to meet their daily needs. Queues behind the TCB (Trading Corporation of Bangladesh) trucks are growing day by day. The TCB sells daily essentials at subsidised prices, and for many low- and middle-income families, it is the last resort. However, the entire process of selling products through these TCB trucks does not seem to be convenient. People have to wait several hours in queues for the arrival of these trucks and there may also be chaos and fight for buying the essentials. Sometimes, a few of them also become sick while braving the scorching heat.
So, we urge the relevant authorities to sell TCB products from designated shops instead of open trucks. It should be considered on humanitarian grounds.
