According to a market report, Blenders were fairly active with a little more interest from the Loose Tea buyers. A feature of the sale was the sustained demand for good liquoring varieties.
Dusts sold well but eased slightly over last.
CTC LEAF: 27,164 packages, 126 packages of Old Season on offer met with a fairly good demand at easier rates. However, there were some withdrawals.
BROKENS: Well made and good liquoring Brokens met with a fairly good demand but at lower rates easing by up to Tk 5.0 and more and these sold between Tk 198 and Tk 205 per kilogramme. Medium and plainer varieties met with less demand and were also easier with some withdrawals.
FANNINGS: Good liquoring Fannings were in good demand but prices declined by Tk 3.0 to Tk 5.0 and sometimes more and these could be quoted between Tk 199 and Tk 204. All others were also easier and prices for these eased further.
CTC DUST: 2,939 packages on offer met with a good demand generally at easier rates. Select few lines of best liquoring varieties met with a strong competition and were dearer. All others also sold well but eased slightly in line with quality. Both Blenders and Loose Tea buyers lent good support.
