Tea sale witnesses good demand from blenders

A small weight of tea was offered at this sale which took place at Srimangal recently. Most of the teas on offer were sold owing to good demand from Blenders as well as the Loose tea buyers, said a press statement.
CDs were a strong feature of the sale.
CTC LEAF: As many as 8,148 packages of Current Season Teas were on offer. There was a strong demand at firm to dearer rates.
BROKENS: Black, clean BOPs were a good market and were well supported at around previous levels. Smaller Brokens particularly the brighter varieties witnessed a stronger demand and were dearer with competition often by Taka 2/- to Taka 3/-. Plainer types were well absorbed at around last levels.
FANNINGS: Well made bright Fannings were strongly competed for and appreciated by Taka 2/- to Taka 3/- whilst all others also saw a good demand and were mostly firm. Plain varieties sold at around last levels with fewer withdrawals.
CTC DUST: As many as 1,671 packages of Current Season Teas on offer met with a strong demand at firm to dearer rates. Good liquoring varieties particularly the smaller grades met with a stronger demand and were dearer by upto Tk.5/- and more. CDs met with more competition and were dearer by upto Taka 10/-. Blenders lent strong support with fairly good interest from the Loose tea buyers.
