Teacher jailed for sexually harassing schoolgirl

A mobile court in Khulna sentenced a schoolteacher to three months' imprisonment for sexually harassing a female student in Khulna city on Tuesday. The teacher was identified as SM Nazrul Islam, 43, librarian of Udayan District Police School. Executive magistrate Mashiur Rahman pronounced the verdict at about 3:00pm. Sikta Rani, sub-inspector of Sadar Police Station, said police arrested Nazrul Islam following a complaint from the victim's family members. Later, the mobile court tried him and handed down the punishment in his presence, according to a news agency.
