Teacher sues pupil on rape charges in city

A female teacher of Fashion Technology Institute at Shyamoli in the city has filed a case against a male student of the institution on charges of raping her. Following the case, the teacher, who is in her early thirties, was taken to the One Stop Crisis Centre in Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for medical examination on Sunday, said Sub-Inspector Asad, investigation officer (IO) of the case. According to the complainant, the student developed physical relation with the teacher promising to marry her. Recently she tried to pursue him to tie the knot. At one stage the male student who is in his early twenties refused to marry her. Police raided the student mess to nab the accused who went into hiding after his teacher lodged the complaint against him, according to a news agency.
