Teachers urged to work for countering terrorism

Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun Saturday urged the teachers community to play a vital role in countering terrorism by making the students aware of the adverse affects of violence and militancy, reports BSS.
She made the call while speaking at a certificate and award giving ceremony of Kindergarten Welfare Association Bangladesh at the National Museum Auditorium in the city.
Presided over by the association chairman M Yusuf Alam, the ceremony was also addressed by Members of the Parliament Talukdar M Toufiq Jang Mirad and Benzir Ahmed, and Dhaka University Professor Dr Ohiduzzaman.
The home minister said that her ministry had taken firm steps to check militancy, terrorism, extortion and tender manipulation.
