Teachres, students demonstrate, demand own land

MYMENSINGH, June 17 (UNB): Teachers and students of Shaheed Syed Nazrul College in the district town Wednesday staged demonstration on Mymensingh-Tangail road demanding own land for the educational institution.
They also put barricade on the road near the college for two hours from midday.
The students burned tyres, attacked four buses and later set a bus on fire disrupting traffic movement and injuring 10 people, mostly pedestrians and bus passengers.
On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control at about 2.00 pm.
Of the injured, Abhishek (16) and Bijon (16), were rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
