Team East beat Team South in Challengers' Cup Cricket

Team East notched a four-wicket victory over Team South on the final day of the four-day second round match of the Challengers' Cup Cricket Wednesday at BKSP in Savar, reports UNB.
Chasing 181 runs in the second innings, Team East (1st innings 151 runs) resumed their second innings with overnight 72 for 4 and easily reached the target making 181 for 6 in 99.2 overs.
Night-watch opening batsman Shakil Haider (33), who scored 52 runs in first innings, played an anchor role for the victory contributing 75 runs with seven fours and a six. Later, he was adjudged man of the match.
Number four Humayan Kabir, who resumed batting on 31, added another useful 40 runs off 129 balls with one four and a six.
Two new ball bowlers Shoaib Ahmed and Rubaiyat Haque claimed two wickets each for 29 and 36 runs respectively.
Earlier, Team South scored 160 runs in the first innings and 171 in the second innings giving an easy target for Team East on the fourth and last day.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Team North earned a seven-wicket victory over Team West on the third day of the four-day second round match.
