Technical Edn Week begins tomorrow

The Technical and Vocational Education Week-2014 begins across the country tomorrow (Wednesday), aimed at motivating students about technical and vocational education, reports UNB.
Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina will open the programme at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, said Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid at a press briefing at his ministry Monday.
The theme of the week is 'Technical and Vocational Education for Facing Challenges of 21st Century,' he said.
The Technical Education Week will be held in all divisions, districts and upazilas across the country. On the occasion, the authorities concerned have chalked out various programmes including rally, seminar and roundtable discussion.
About the growing enrollment rate, the minister said the rate of admission to technical education has increased by eight times in the last five years, he said adding, "We've a plan to increase the number by 20 per cent in 2020 and 30 per cent in 2030."
