Technical glitch halts DSE trading

A technical glitch at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) is halting trade in the country’s premier bourse till filing this report at 11.08am on Wednesday, the fourth session of the week. DSE officials said due to the sudden technical problem, some brokerage houses were unable to re-log the server. Usually trading begins at 10:30am at both Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges and simultaneously closes at 2:30pm every working day. DSE officials said experts of the IT Department of DSE is working to solve the technical problem. “As soon as the problems are solved, trading will resume on the country’s main bourse,” said a DSE official. Technical glitch also disrupted trading activities on DSE on two consecutive days on May 24 and May 25 this year, which forced the authorities to reduce the trading hours. However, the CSE trading started on time at 10:30am on Wednesday.
