Communication technologies are evolving rapidly as companies try and keep pace with increasing public appetite for an ever richer and more interactive mobile experience, speakers told a symposium.
North South University (NSU) and Eyeball Bangladesh Ltd jointly organised the symposium at NSU seminar hall recently to highlight the impacts of these emerging voice and video technologies, said a press statement.
State Minister for Science and Information and Communication Technology Yeafesh Osman attended the symposium as the chief guest, while NSU Vice Chancellor Hafiz GA Siddiqi as special guest.
Munir Zaman Khan, Director of Product Engineering of Eyeball Bangladesh Ltd, a subsidiary of Eyeball Networks Inc, presented the keynote paper entitled "Emerging Technologies in Mobile VoIP".
Yeafesh Osman said innovation of new technologies in mobile communications is the key to creating a competitive and sustainable future communication infrastructure.
The state minister hoped that emerging technologies like 4G and IP voice and video over mobile platforms would enhance the socio-economic spectrum of Bangladesh.
Eyeball Networks has licensed its technologies to more 200 companies, including many of the world's largest communications companies such as Fujifilm, Intel, Maxis, Mitsubishi, Nokia, Nokia Siemens Networks, Polycom and many more.
