Teenage girl commits suicide in city

A teenage girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house at Ghurni Hazipara in the city's Khilkhet area early Friday. The dead was identified as Farida Yasmin, 16, daughter of Mujibur Rahman. Police said Farida took her life by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her room at about 1.0 am as her parents did not accept her love affair with her neighbour Sabuj. — UNB
