Teenaged college girl hacked dead in Dinajpur

A female college student has been slaughtered in Birganj upazila in Dinajpur district. Police said the assailants thrashed the face and head of Rumana Akter, 19, daughter of Abdul Malek of Shithlai village. The incident happened around 8:30pm on Thursday in Napitpara in Naogaon village under the upazila. Akter sat the Higher Secondary Certificate examinations held this year. Birganj Police Station OC Jahangir Alam said the body was found on a mud road, three kilometres from her house. It’s primarily suspected that she was raped before slaughtered. It was also suspected that the girl was butchered at the place where the body was found. After the slaughtering, her head and face were smashed, according to a news agency.
