Teenager drowns in Noakhali pond

NOAKHALI, Mar 24 (BSS): A teenage boy drowned in a pond in Companiganj upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The deceased was Zahidul Islam Siam, 13, son of Abul Kashem, a resident of Charparbati union of the upazila.
Siam drowned in the pond near his house while he was taking bath with his friends, said local union parishad member Nur Alam Mamun.
Locals rushed to the scene and rescued the boy before taking him to Companiganj Upazila Health Complex.
