Teenager gets 6-month jail for Eve teasing

SHARIATPUR, Nov 11 (bdnews24.com): A teenager was sentenced to six months in prison for eve teasing in Shariatpur.
Judicial magistrate Utpal Bhattacharya gave the order Thursday and also asked Robin Sardar (16), to pay Tk 500 as fine, or failing which the the jail term will be increased by 15 more days.
The teenager was present at the court during the verdict.
Sardar was accused of harassing a student of Damudda Girls High School. The school authorities informed the police of the harassment after receiving the girl's complaint.
Damudda police assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Mohammad Ilias filed a case against Robin on June 26. He was arrested on the same day.
