Tejgaon bicycle factory fire doused

Firefighters tamed the fire which broke out at a bicycle factory in Tejgaon Induatrial Area in the city on Wednesday afternoon. However, no casualty was reported in the devastating fire that gutted bicycles, cycle parts and cycle-making materials worth millions of taka at ‘Meghna Cycle Factory’, situated behind Nabisco Biscuit and Bread Factory. Shahjadi Sultana, the Duty Officer at Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters in Fulbaria said the fire broke out around 01:45pm at a warehouse of Meghna Cycle Factory and soon the flame spread to the factory building. Being informed, a dozen firefighting units from different fire stations in the city rushed to the spot and put out the blaze after four hours of hectic efforts, according to a news agency.
