Tejgaon warehouse fire doused

The fire that erupted at a chemical godown (warehouse) in Tejgaon Industrial Area in Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon, has been doused. However, no injury was reported. Mohammad Ali of fire service headquarters control room said the fire broke out at the warehouse around 4:00pm and soon spread to adjoining structures. Being informed six firefighting units rushed to the spot from different fire stations in the city and doused the fire. Later, one more unit joined the effort. But no causality was reported regarding the fire incident, he added. Assistant Director of Fire Service and Civil Defence Rafiqul Islam said the firefighters brought the fire under control around 5:45pm. None was injured, he confirmed. The management of the godown claimed that the extent of loss caused by the fire could be over Tk0.7 million, according to a news agency.
