Teknaf landport fails to reach revenue earning target

CHITTAGONG Jan 5: Teknaf landport failed to reach its revenue earning target set for December last year.
Earlier, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) set a target for realising revenue worth around Tk 79.04 million by Teknaf landport but it could realise revenue worth about Tk 61.09 million, which was Tk 17.95 million less than the set target for the stated period, sources said.
Teknaf landport also failed to achieve the target set for the first six months of the current fiscal (2007-08).
In the situation, Teknaf landport is facing a huge amount of revenue deficit in the new English year.
And if the persisting trend continues, it is not likely to achieve the revenue earning target even in the next six months of the current fiscal, sources added.
