Ten companies grab one-third of weekly transactions on DSE

The ten most-traded stocks accounted for one-third of transactions on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) in the week to Thursday, with Beximco making its way to the top of the turnover chart for a second straight week.
According to DSE data, some 17.65 million Beximco's shares were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 2.30 billion, which was 7.55 per cent of the week's total turnover.
The company's share closed at Tk 134.40 on Thursday, gaining 1.74 per cent in the week before.
Market operators said investors continued to show their buying appetite for Beximco shares as the company reported an impressive earnings growth for the last nine months.
Beximco's earnings per share (EPS) jumped 206.51 per cent to Tk 13.18 for July 2021 to March 2022 as against Tk 4.30 for July 2020-March 2021.
IPDC Finance came second on the turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 1.35 billion changing hands. The company's share price rose 3.44 per cent to close at Tk 48.10 each on Thursday.
JMI Hospital Requisite Manufacturing clinched the third spot, with shares worth Tk 1.11 billion changing hands. The medical equipment manufacturer's share closed at Tk 78.80, losing 1.87 per cent over the previous week.
Shinepukur Ceramics emerged as the fourth, with shares worth Tk 1.0 billion changing hands. The company's share price plunged 10.12 per cent to close at Tk 36.40.
Bangladesh Shipping Corporation notched the fifth spot, with shares worth Tk 909 million changing hands. The state-run corporation's share closed at Tk 118.70 each, gaining 1.71 per cent.
The turnover of Southeast Bank was Tk 783 million. The bank's share price soared 2.84 per cent to close at Tk 14.50 each.
Fortune Shoes featured a turnover of Tk 749 million. The company's share closed at Tk 105.40, losing 4.62 per cent over the previous week.
The turnover of GSP Finance was Tk 707 million. The company's share price jumped 13.33 per cent to close at Tk 32.30 each.
Delta Life Insurance featured a turnover of Tk 668 million. The life insurer's share closed at Tk 118.50 each, gaining 5.33 per cent over the week before.
ACI Formulations also made its way to the week's top turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 540 million changing hands. The company's share price fell 8.54 per cent to close at Tk 166.10 each.
