Ten most-traded companies captured nearly 36 per cent transactions on the prime bourse on Monday.
Monno Jute Stafflers generated the highest turnover.
The Monno Jute's share price also soared 50 per cent or Tk 647 each in the past one month without having any undisclosed price sensitive information.
Recently, the securities regulator decided to take legal action against Monno Welfare Foundation, the corporate director of Monno Jute Stafllers, for breaching the securities rules.
Market analysts said investors showed their appetite throughout the session for Monno Jute shares ahead of dividend declaration as the company's financial year ended on June 30.
According to statistics available with the DSE, about 189,208 shares of Monno Jute were traded, generating a turnover of nearly 335 million, which was 8.62 per cent of the day's total turnover.
The total turnover on the DSE stood at Tk 3.89 billion on Monday, up from Tk 3.17 billion in the previous session.
The company's share closed at Tk 1941.70 each on Monday, gaining 5.24 per cent over the previous day.
In the past one year, its share hovered between Tk 641.10 and Tk 5,634.20.
The company's earnings per share (EPS) stood at Tk 5.70 for July 2018-March 2019 as against Tk 2.95 for July 2017-March 2018.
The net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) was Tk 4.38 for July 2018-March 2019 as against Tk 19.16 for July 2017-March 2018.
The net asset value (NAV) per share was Tk 17.54 as on March 31, 2019 and Tk 53.30 as on June 30, 2018.
Earlier the company informed that sales increased due to addition of new machineries, product line increased as well as customer demand increased. Therefore, EPS increased.
The company, listed on the DSE in 1982, disbursed 350 per cent stock dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2018.
The company's paid-up capital is Tk 20.70 million and authorized capital is Tk 1.0 billion, while the total number of securities is 2.07 million.
The sponsor-directors own 42.98 per cent stake in company, while institutional investors own 10.17 per cent, foreign investors 0.05 per cent and the general public 46.80 per cent as on August 31, 2019, the DSE data shows.
National Tubes came second on the turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 212 million changing hands. The company's share price fell 5.41 per cent to close at Tk 161 each.
Stylecraft clinched the third spot, with shares worth Tk 130 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 867.20 each, soaring 6.57 per cent.
Monno Ceramic emerged fourth despite the company traded on spot market, with shares worth Tk 127 million changing hands. The company's share rose 2.20 per cent to close at Tk 195.10 each.
Beacon Pharma notched the fifth spot, with shares worth Tk 105 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 27.10, shedding 3.21 each.
The turnover of Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company was Tk 105 million. The company's share closed at Tk 125.50, advancing 4.50 per cent.
JMI Syringes featured a turnover of Tk 101 million. The company's share price fell 2.34 per cent to close at Tk 480.10 each.
The turnover of BATBC was Tk 96 million. The multinational company's share price soared 5.84 per cent to close at Tk 1165.80 each.
Legacy Footwear featured a turnover of Tk 88 million. The company's share closed at Tk 134.10 each, gaining 1.67 per cent over the previous session.
The VFS Thread Dyeing also made its way to the top 10 turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 83 million changing hands. The company's share soared 9.62 per cent to close at Tk 26.20 each.
