Ten killed in separate incidents

Ten persons were killed and many others injured in separate incidents in different places of the country during the last two days, report agencies.
In Madaripur, a minor girl was killed and 40 other people were injured when a bus plunged into a roadside ditch at Pathuriapar area in Kalkini Monday.
Meanwhile: A middle-aged man was killed in snakebite at Uttar Ramjapur village in Kalkini Sunday morning.
In Chandpur, a tractor driver was killed and two others were injured when his vehicle overturned at Mulpara in Faridganj on the Chandpur-Faridganj Road Monday evening.
The deceased was identified as M Manik, son of Mizanur Rahman of the village.
Another report adds: A minor girl drowned in a pond at Rupsha village in Faridganj Monday noon.
Meanwhile: A farmer was electrocuted at Chhoto Haludia village in Matlab Monday noon.
Witnesses said Suruj Pradhania came in contact with a live electric wire at noon while cutting bamboo from a bamboo cluster. Later, police recovered the body and sent it to morgue for autopsy.
In Panchagarh, two of a family were killed and two others injured in lightning at Borodarga Dandrakhata village in Sadar early Tuesday.
Injured Namizuddin and his elder daughter Shanta were admitted to the local hospital in critical condition.
In Rajbari, one person was killed in a road accident at Goalondo Upazila Health Complex area under Goalondo in the district.
The police said, the victim was identified as Hajrat Sheikh son of Arshad Sheikh, of village Gafur Mondolerpara in Goalondo.
The accident took place at 3.30 pm while the victim was crossing the road for treatment when a speeding tempo hit him from behind.
In Barisal, one person was killed in lightning at Gournadi in the district.
The dead was identified as Manik Sarder of Kasba village under Gournadi.
The police and local sources said, Manik Sarder was hit by thunderbolt while working in a field at around 5.30 pm. He was taken immediately to the local hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
In Gaibandha, a minor boy drowned in a pond at Jarippur village under Gumaniganj union of Gobindaganj in the district.
