Ten top-traded cos clinch 27pc transaction
Beximco, Brac Bank, IFAD Autos dominate turnover chart

The top 10-traded companies accounted for more than 27 per cent transaction of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Sunday, with Beximco topping the list.
Market operators said the investors continued their buying appetite on Bangladesh Export Import Company (Beximco) shares throughout the session amid positive expectation.
According to statistics available with the DSE, about 18 million shares of Beximco were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 536 million, 7.75 per cent of the premier bourse's total transaction.
The miscellaneous sector company's share price is also soaring abnormally in recent days despite no undisclosed price sensitive information.
Meanwhile, Beximco's share price jumped more than 33 per cent or Tk 7.20 each within a week to reach at Tk 29.30 on Sunday at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
Following the abnormal price hike, the Dhaka bourse served show-cause notice on the company.
However, the company informed the DSE Sunday that there was no undisclosed price sensitive information for recent unusual price hike of its shares.
Even after serving the show-cause notice, the company's share price increased further by 4.43 per cent to close at Tk 30.60 each on Monday.
The company's earnings per share stood at Tk 0.35 for October-December, 2017 as against Tk 0.21 for October-December, 2016.
In six months, earnings per share were Tk 0.68 for July-December, 2017 as against Tk 0.53 for July-December, 2016.
Apart from Beximco, the most other active shares in terms of value included Brac Bank, IFAD Autos, United Power, Fortune Shoes, Keya Cosmetics, Alif Indutsries, Square Pharmaceuticals, Monno Ceramic Industries and BD Thai Aluminium.
Brac Bank came next with shares worth Tk 270 million changing hands. The bank's share closed at Tk 106.80 each, advancing by 2.79 per cent over the previous session.
IFAD Autos was the third, with shares of Tk 188 million changing hands. The company's share price edged up by 0.56 per cent to close at Tk 125.10 each.
United Power clinched the fourth spot, with shares worth Tk 154 million changing hands. The power generation company's share closed at Tk 167 each, gaining 3.47 per cent over the previous day.
Fortune Shoes emerged as fifth with shares of Tk 143 million changing hands. The company's share price advanced 3.36 per cent to settle at Tk 33.80 each.
The turnover of Keya Cosmetics was Tk 139 million. The company's share price fell 1.01 per cent to close at Tk 9.80 each.
Alif Manufacturing Company was the seventh with shares worth Tk 123 million changing hands. The company's share price closed at Tk 13.30 each, remaining unchanged over the previous session.
Square Pharma saw its shares worth more than Tk 118 million changed hands. The second largest market-cap listed company's share price advanced 0.66 per cent to close at Tk 316.90 each.
The turnover of Monno Ceramic was Tk 112 million. The company's share price closed at Tk 154.70, losing 3.13 per cent.
BD Thai Aluminium was also included in the top ten turnover chart with shares worth Tk 100 million changing hands. The company's share price advanced 2.28 per cent to close at Tk 26.90 each.
