Ten top-traded cos grab 28pc turnover

Ten top-traded companies accounted for more than 28 per cent transactions on the country's major bourse on Monday.
Grameephone (GP) topped the list.
Market operators said fundamentally-sound issues like GP and Square Pharmaceuticals continued to attract investors following their positive quarterly earning declarations.
Recently, the board of directors of the GP has recommended 100 per cent final cash dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2017. The total dividend is 205 per cent cash dividend as the company already paid 105 per cent interim cash dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2017.
GP, the largest market cap company, has also posted 21.76 per cent growth in earnings per share (EPS) in 2017 compared to a year ago. The company's EPS stood at Tk 20.31 for the year ended on December 31, 2017 as against Tk 16.68 for the previous year.
According to statistics available with the DSE, about 455,348 shares of GP were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 231 million, which was 4.74 per cent of the Dhaka bourse's total transactions.
