Tendency of siphoning off money to increase: CPD
Sunday, 4 May 2014
Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) apprehends that the tendency of siphoning off money will increase for three types of ‘uncertainty’ that the country and its people are going through right now. “The tendency of siphoning off money will increase because of the situation the country is now going through…we’ve this apprehension in our minds,” said CPD distinguished fellow Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya on Sunday. He said when policy, assets and personal life go through uncertainty, it influences both investment and internal deposit structure. Debapriya made the observation at a pre-budget briefing held at Brac Centre Inn in the city where the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), a civil society think tank, placed a set of recommendations for the next national budget - fiscal year 2014-2015. He said a big problem will emerge in terms of budget financing in the next fiscal year if the tendency of siphoning off money increases on a large scale, according to a news agency.
