Tension grips wheat farmers

MAGURA, Apr 6: Tension has gripped the farmers in Magura due to low price of wheat. Newly harvested wheat has started to come to the market.
On a visit to Gangnalia, Kathakhali, Jagla and Moghi wheat was  found to be sold at Tk 700 to Tk 720 per maund.
But farmers were seen unhappy with the existing price.
Agriculture Extension Department (DAE) Magura informed, a total of 8050 hectares of land was brought under wheat cultivation in the district. A bumper production has been achieved this year which is 28050 tonnes.
