\\\'Terrorist\\\' group member killed in Cox\\\'s Bazar

An alleged member of a terrorist group was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with his rivals at Honak in Maheshkhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Monday. The deceased was identified as Mojammel Haque, 40, a resident of Kalarmarchhora village of the upazila. Saiqul Islam Bhuinyan, officer-in-charge of Maheshkhali Police Station said two local terrorists groups had long been at loggerheads over grabbing a shrimp enclosure in the area. As a sequel to the enmity, members of one of the groups opened fire at the members of the other group, forcing them to fire back, triggering a gunfight at about 6.00am, leaving Mojammel dead on the spot. Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, according to a news agency.
