Saturday, 15 February 2014

BNP chairperson’s adviser and Bangladesh Bar Council vice-chairman Khandaker Mahbub Hossain has urged the government to arrange a referendum to test its popularity. “The government doesn’t believe in people’s power,” he said while addressing a discussion organised by All Community Forum, a pro-BNP organization, at National Press Club (NPC) in the city on Saturday. He said “The government has lost its ground beneath its feet and it shouldn’t be allowed to rule the country for a long period.” The country’s people are pro-democratic and they must establish democracy, he added. Jubo Dal president Moazzam Hossain Alal, among others, spoke at the programme held with Forum adviser Ashraf Uddin Bakul in the chair, according to UNB.
