Thai economy to expand 4pc in 2014 : WB

BANGKOK, Feb 11 (Xinhua): Thailand's gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to grow by 4.0 per cent in 2014 thanks to export expansion, according to the World Bank's office in Thai capital Bangkok Tuesday.
Kirida Phaophichit, a senior WB economist, said Tuesday that the country's exports are forecast to grow by 6.0 per cent in 2014 to amount to US$238.92 million, while imports are expected to increase by 5.0 per cent to $229.99 million.
The country should pay more attention to narrowing social inequality by distributing spending in regions across the country, said the economist.
