Thai investment in textile, tourism sectors sought

President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Zafar Osman has asked Thai businessmen to invest in textile, agro processing, leather, energy and tourism sectors of Bangladesh.
He made the call when a 19-member Thai business delegation led by President of Thai-Bangladesh Business Council Mingpant Chaya met him at the DCCI office in the city Sunday.
President of Bangladesh-Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTCCI) and former president of DCCI MA Momen was present at the meeting.
The DCCI president assured the Thai business delegation of all possible support from the Dhaka Chamber in future, according to a press release.
Mr Mingpant Chaya put emphasis on executing a free trade agreement between the two friendly countries.
He also put emphasis on reducing the trade imbalance between Bangladesh and Thailand.
A good number of businessmen and industrialists of Thailand want to relocate their businesses and industrial units to Bangladesh, he said.
