Thailand beat Kenya in Bangabandhu Int'l Kabaddi tournament

Sunday, 2 June 2024

Thailand secured a semifinal slot from group B in the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi tournament with a nail biting 44-42 victory over Kenya with two Lona's at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium on Saturday, reports BSS.
Thailand and Kenya both have eight points in their account but Kenya who has played four matches take on Uganda in the last match of the day. A win for Kenya will see them as the group champions and Thailand runners-up. If Kenya loses to Uganda, then the net run rate will be the deciding factor and Kenya is ahead of Thailand in net run rate.
Thailand's Nophadon Pontaisong scored 13 points helping his team to register the crucial victory.
A semifinal appearance is not new for Thailand as they reached the last four in the last edition also.
