Thanking city corporation

Friday, 10 October 2014

We thank the city corporation authorities for efficiently doing the post-Eid-ul-Azha clean-up job. Considering the bitter experiences of the past, we were scared before the Eid day that cleaning the animal waste would not be possible and we the city dwellers have to live with the smell of blood and other waste of the sacrificial animals. Surprisingly we noticed that the animal waste was removed and blood washed shortly after the animals were slaughtered.
In fact the post-Eid cleaning process has been improving each year. Of course we noticed the common people were also conscious and cooperative. Many did the cleaning job themselves without waiting for the cleaners to come. While moving across the main streets of the city we noticed that the smell of blood and other garbage is absent this year. But we guess this is not the whole picture and situation may be different in the narrow alleys and remote areas of the city.
However, during the pre-Eid days each year, we have been tolerating the smell of animal fodders and animal stools all over the city. We hope the city corporation and the agencies concerned will take appropriate steps to relieve us from this menace in future.
