Tharoor hospitalised after death of wife

Indian minister and author Shashi Tharoor has been hospitalised with chest pain, hours after his wife was found dead in a New Delhi hotel. Doctors said he complained of chest pain and 'we did not take a chance'. "But now he seems to be stable," said a doctor attending to him. He is being admitted to the same hospital where his wife Sunanda Pushkar's post-mortem examination is taking place. She was found dead in Hotel Leela Palace on Friday evening after a bitter Twitter encounter with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar, who Sunanda accused of 'stalking my husband'. On Friday, he returned from a long Congress meeting to find his wife lying on the bed after the hotel staff had opened the door as Sunanda was not opening it. When she did not move, Tharoor called in the police and Sunanda was taken to the hospital where she was found dead. Tharoor married Sunanda in 2010, three years after he left UN service and joined the Congress Party to become a junior foreign minister of India soon after. They had moved into the Leela Palace hotel a few days ago as their bungalow was undergoing repairs and renovation. At least that was the couple's version, accordimng to a news agency.
