The golden era of Afzal-Subarna

I was watching on Youtube an old drama "Bondhu Amar" featuring Afzal Hossain and Subarna Mustafa, two of my most favourite actors. I really enjoyed it. It had a nice story and the superb acting by Afzal-Subarna took the drama to a new height. One does not come across such well produced dramas these days on TV channels. Most of the television dramas are poor imitation of Indian soap opera. I do not find actors matching the likes of Afzal, Suborna, Humayun Faridi and Asaduzzaman Noor, and it is indeed sad. Maybe, we have a dearth of talented actors in our country.
Nowadays, everyone wants to be a star and not an actor. The new generation can learn a lot from the performance of yesteryears' drama which are available on Youtube. We have many TV channels and every day many dramas are being aired, but very few leave a lasting impression on our minds. I miss the era of 80s when TV drama was very popular in our country because of its story, acting and production quality. I am glad that I can rewind those dramas and enjoy it on Youtube.
