The mystique of Brazil football shattered

Mike Tunison tweeted: "STOP! STOP! THEY'RE ALREADY DEAD!" Yes, Brazil has died, shattering the mystique of Brazil football perhaps for good and dragging in the wake many millions of Brazil fans around the world to find their dreams left in tatters.
Thousands, maybe millions, of Bangladeshi Brazil fans, who amidst their daily pains and miseries, had their sleepless night on July 09 only for a little thrill and a tiny solace in a Brazil victory, must have dropped off to sleep in unbearable grief and agony for the unimaginable defeat and perhaps preferred not to get up from their slumber to show their faces early in the morning.
Germany beat the host nation Brazil with a 7-1 humiliating defeat in the World Cup semi-final on Tuesday. It was utterly unbelievable, unexpected, historic and inexplicable. Spectators inside The Mineirao Stadium at Belo Horizonte were in tears as their side succumbed to the mortifying crush, ending their dreams of a title on their home soil. It is the biggest defeat in a World Cup semi-final and Brazil's worst defeat in their football history. It could have been worse had Mesut Oezil finished off his clear chance in the 90th minute to make it 8-0, ending up on this list of the heaviest ever defeats of Brazil at the World Cup. By kicking the ball inside the net of German's fort in the last minute Brazil however earned a goal of honour.
The Brazil captain and best defender, Thiago Silva, was out because of a yellow-card suspension and a sterling striker Neymar was also out for injury. But their absence should not explain the comprehensive failure of the entire team.
Four goals in a space of just seven minutes in the first-half literally shell-shocked and paralysed an entire nation. The first half-hour of the tournament with torrential goals and shambolic Brazilian defending, combined with their lethal passing and hobbling movements, has entered history as a record breaker that will torment the Brazilians and their fans for ages.
Continuous goal scorings looked like an 11-member firing squad releasing their bullets on a single victim.
Germany's performance was spellbinding. It was an outstanding display of football that far surpassed their exhilarating but ultimately-doomed showings in South Africa four years ago.
It was a wrenching shock to see Brazil fans leaving the stadium well before half-time to avoid watching the rest of what became the greatest humiliation in the nation's illustrious football history.
The defeat has added severe insult to injury that Brazil suffered backĀ  in 1950 when the country was beaten 2-1 by Uruguay in the final at Rio de Janeiro's Maracana stadium - a defeat known across Brazil as the ''Hammer blow of the Maracana".
That infamous defeat has long been a source of national pain, a shocking night which famously prompted the national team to change their strip colours from white to yellow.
The 2014 World Cup was supposed to be Brazil's chance to finally avenge that defeat on home soil. Instead, it became a defeat far worse than anything that the 1950 team could ever have dreamed of for a team that has been wearing the yellow shirts since then.
Will this defeat goad Brazil for more soul-searching and prompt the team to change the colour of their jerseys from Yellow to Black?
Germany advances to its eighth World Cup final against the winner of Wednesday's Argentina-Netherlands semi-final.
The Germans will be seeking their fourth world championship. And, Brazil must still play one more match: the third-place game Saturday at Brasilia vs. the loser of Argentina Netherlands.
Only a player or a fan knows what it is like to be defeated. It is not a time to console the broken-hearted Brazilians or the wretched Brazil fans in Bangladesh.
It is better to let their pains heal with time. It is better to let them reach down to the bottom of their souls and come up with extra ounces of hope to see the sun rising tomorrow and Brazil roaring once again in 2018.
