The next budget should be investment friendly

Wednesday, 19 May 2010

Every citizen has the right to know about the country’s welfare and economic development. There are many competent persons in various fields who have may make good suggestions for economic planning. It may not be that difficult to prepare a national budget but it is not always easy to implement the budget.
The people of our country want to live peacefully. They want rule of law, a good standard of education, health and hospital facilities. The fulfillment of these demands depends on the leadership of the ministers and MPs.
Crime and corruption should be stopped. The people should not be harassed any more by government officers.
All parties have the right to do politics but the party/parties that form a government after winning a general election should be allowed to complete their term in office. This is the political norm. But the opposition parties in our country do not easily reconcile with their defeat in elections and start disturbing the government by creating problems. As a result, the common people suffer. The opposition parties should shun this negative politics and raise all issues in the Jatiya Sangsad.
Now that the government is in the process of preparing the national budget for the 2010-11 fiscal year, we note that it kept a scope in the current budget for whitening undisclosed money for investment in share market, industries and in agro-industries in particular and for the purchase of land and apartments etc. This was appreciated by the tax-payers. Now, we request the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister to keep this provision in the upcoming budget for 2010-2011. It should be the responsibility of the government to create all facilities for investment in the country. The government should also simplify the taxation rules and regulations. And all these should be reflected in the next national budget.
