The state of school education
Wednesday, 3 June 2009
EACH year, the education boards by announcing the SSC and HSC results bring occasions for celebration. But only a handful of schools in the capital and other big cities and towns can celebrate. Education has been reduced to a kind of a commodity. Only the moneyed can buy it for their wards. The well known schools supplemented by extensive private coaching do the trick. We need to get out of this system and restore quality classroom teaching to discourage such result-oriented education dependent on commercial private tutors.
