The Tigers end their jinx

Wednesday, 29 October 2014

The Tigers have finally won an international match and ended their losing streak to the relief of the sports-loving people of our country. But that did not come before a jittery finish. My heart was pumping excessively, when the first Test match between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe was inching towards the thrilling end. I was very nervous as anything except a win would have been disastrous for the Tigers.
When the Tigers set out to chase Zimbabwe's paltry 101 in their second innings, I was not expecting an easy sailing. Neither had I thought it would be so hard. The batsmen were very shaky to chase this small total. Anyway, at the end I was happy the Tigers were able to eke out a win.
Taijul Islam's superb bowling performance set the stage for Bangladesh's win. He literally tore Zimbabwe apart by his lethal bowling. He took eight wickets and gave away only 39 runs and it was the best bowling figure for a Bangladeshi bowler. I hope this win will boost the morale of Bangladeshi players and they will get back their lost confidence.
