The World Cup extravaganza

Sunday, 22 June 2014

In the ongoing World Cup soccer, France is silently moving ahead. They have already won the two matches they played so far and made sure they will be playing in the second round. In their second match against Switzerland, they pounded the Swiss team by 5-2 goals and so far this was the highest scoring match of the World Cup-2014.
I am very happy with the World Cup games as we have been witnessing more goals than many the previous World Cup tournaments had seen.
Football is the game of goal and I feel irritated and frustrated if despite watching a 90-minute game, I do not see any score. France won both their matches comfortably and proved their strength. From the brilliant performances of France, everyone has taken notice of their strong emergence in this season.
With each passing day, the attraction of this tournament is increasing. But much more lie ahead as the best teams from around the globe will face each other soon in a do-or-die situation from the upcoming second round for the coveted World Cup trophy. Now the World Cup football has taken centre-stage in our country. Everywhere people are talking about it regardless of their liking or disliking for any team.  The World Cup football has crossed all the barriers of border, language, religion, colour and made human beings one race truly.
