Theft accused found dead in Habiganj police custody

HABIGANJ, Dec 27 (UNB): An accused of a theft case was found hanging from a ceiling fan at Baniachong thana of the district on Tuesday.
The dead, Golam Rabbani (26), was a resident of Nandipara area of Baniachong Sadar upazila.
Delwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Baniachong thana, said he was arrested on charges of stealing an auto-rickshaw on Tuesday afternoon.
He was found hanging from the ceiling fan inside a room beside the custody around 7:30 pm, said the OC.
Later he was taken to the Baniachong Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctor declared him dead after examination.
