Awami League leader Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif has said that time has come to think whether BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will be allowed to hold any rally in the future if she does not apologise on behalf of the party’s senior vice chairman for making offensive comments on Bangabandhu. ‘Awami League won’t tolerate the way Tarique Rahman and BNP leaders making disparaging remarks on Bangabandhu,’ Hanif, the AL joint general secretary, said while addressing a follow-up programme after attending a joint meeting with Jubo League leaders at the Awami League President’s political office at Dhanmondi in the city. Hanif said it is not only the demand of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) but also the people of Bangladesh that Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman should apologise to the nation for hurling insult at Bangabandhu. He claimed that the people did not allow BNP to hold any rally in Gazipur due to their falsehood and AL had nothing to do with it, according to a news agency.
