Third Wedu leadership development workshop at AUW

Wedu leadership workshop was held at Asian University for Women (AUW) in Chittagong on  September 20, 2015. For the third time, AUW students who are the Wedu Rising Stars conducted the workshop for the whole new group of students who got admitted to AUW in this academic year. This workshop introduced them to Wedu.
Wedu is a registered UK charity. Wedu focuses on the young women who demonstrate strong leadership potentials throughout Asia especially from underserved communities. Hence, the mission of this programme is to unlock the leadership potentials of women in Asia by providing lifelong mentorship and innovative financing options to complete their higher education and become change-makers in their own communities.  
So, the workshop started with providing the overview of Wedu programme, where one of the Wedu Rising Star(s) explained how this programme develop leadership skills, the importance of women's leadership, mentorship, and how Wedu is a platform for the Rising Stars. Later, one of the Rising Stars from Bangladesh and another from Cambodia shared their experiences of being involved  with Wedu programme. Consequently, the participants of the workshop came to  know how financial and non-financial support are helping the current Rising Star(s) at AUW to go for higher education and increase necessary networks to achieve the full potentials in their professional and personal life. Later, the participants were informed about the application process for Wedu.
Participants were asked to share the short and long term goals that they wish to achieve. To facilitate this, five teams were formed and current Rising Stars guided the newcomers to present their goals. At the end of the wonderful session, all the current Wedu Rising Stars opened the floor to let participants ask questions and they were answered accordingly. This workshop will help the participants to unlock their true potentials and will also inspire them to pursue their goals.
