Thousands benefit from Quantum's free health camp in Bandarban

A daylong free healthcare camp has been held in Lama upazila of Bandarban district providing over 3,000 people with different types of treatment through a number of laboratory facilities.
Quantum Foundation organised the medical camp on Friday as part of its regular programme, under the leadership of Professor Dr Nizam Uddin Ahmed, chief of Palliative Care Unit of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
More than 100 physicians from different medical college hospitals, including Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, Square Hospital and Chittagong Medial College Hospital provided treatment with free medicines.
Specialists of different departments were also there.
Nineteen types of medical services, including dermatology, ophthalmology, gynecology, cardiology, dentistry, orthopedics, pediatrics and surgery, were on offer with five laboratory facilities at the health camp.
Disadvantaged section of people, mainly women and children, from Bandarban Sadar, Lama, Ali Kadam, Lohagora and Chakaria of Cox's Bazar district received treatment at the event, says a press release.
