Three \\\'Ansarullah men\\\' put on fresh remand

A Dhaka Court put on Thursday three suspected members of banned militant outfit 'Ansarullah Bangla Team' on a three-day fresh remand each in bloggers Avijit Roy and Ananta Bijoy murder cases, reports UNB.
Those put on remand are Bangladeshi-born UK national Tawhidul Islam (58), Sadek Ali Mithu (28), and Aminul Mollik (35).
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Asaduzzaman Nur passed the order when Inspector (DB) M Fazlur Rahman, also the investigation officer of the case, produced the trio before the court seeking a 10-day fresh remand for each for interrogation.
Earlier, on August 19, the court placed them on a seven-day remand after their arrest from different areas of the city.
On February 26, Avijit Roy, son of noted physicist Ajoy Roy and founder of Mukto-Mona blog, was killed and his wife Rafida Afrin Banya injured seriously near TSC on the Dhaka University campus.
On May 12, Blogger Ananta Bijoy Das, also an activist of Sylhet Ganajagaran Mancha, was hacked to death by a group of assailants in broad daylight at Subidbazar Bankalapara in Sylhet city.
