Three arrested over rape of woman in Kushtia

KUSHTIA, July 20 (UNB): Three persons have been arrested in a case filed over the rape of a 29-yr-old woman in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia district.
The arrestees are Md Quddus. Robin (21), Masfikur (19) and Russell (20). All are the residents of the upazila.
The incident happened around 8:30 pm on Wednesday in a jute field of Bujruk Bakhoi village of Nandanalpur union of the upazila.
Locals rescued the victim and took her to the thana around 1:45 am. Later, the victim filed the rape case with the thana.
Md Akibul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kumarkhali thana, confirmed the matter.
The accused confessed to the incident during primary interrogation. They were produced before a court on Thursday, said the OC.
If anyone else is involved, we will bring them to book, he said.
