Three arrested with 3kg hemp, Indian birth control pill

JAMALPUR, Oct 9 (UNB): The police in a drive arrested three drug peddlers along with 3kg hemp and huge amount of Indian birth control pills at Sanandabari Sylhetpara in Dewanganj Upazila here Saturday morning.
The police said acting on a tip-off they raided the border area at dawn and arrested Badsha Mia, of the area and Fajal Haq, Aminul Islam with the contraband narcotics and the birth control pills.
Fajal Haq and Aminul Islam hailed from Roumari Upazila of Kurigram.
Two cases were filed with the Dewanganj thana.
Another report from Moulvibazar adds: Sixteen cft of valuable timber were recovered from a toilet of a train at Shamshernagar rail station in Kamalganj Upazila Sunday early morning.
Acting on a tip-off a team of forest officials raided the Sylhet-bound Surma Mail train at about 6.00am and recovered the timber worth about Tk 20,000. Forest office source said the smugglers were taking the timber to Sylhet.
