Three arrested with 60 bottles of phensidyl

NARSINGDI, Aug 22 (UNB): Plainclothes police arrested three peddlers with 60 bottles of Indian phensidyl syrup from Baniasol area of the district town Tuesday.
The arrested identified as Jewel (28), Abdur Razzak (30), and Mosammat Baby (22), hailed from Brahmanbaria district.
Suspecting their movement the law enforcers challenged them while they were passing by a shop and at about 10.00 am.
Later, they held them and recovered 60 bottles of phensidyl syrup searching their bodies.
The law enforcers in another drive recovered one kg of ganja in an abandoned condition from another place in the town the same time.
Another report from Khulna adds: Sonadanga police arrested a local leader of Jubo League from west Baniakhamar in the city early Tuesday.
The arrested identified as Mohammad Akil Uddin (39), vice president of city Jubo League, was taken into custody on charge of his involvement in terrorist activities and keeping arms.
