BARISAL, Sept 18 (UNB): Three leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) were chopped and injured allegedly by their rivals at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College (SBMC) in the city on Monday.
Campus sources said SBMC authorities recently asked BCL-led Student Welfare Association (SWA) to form an 11-member committee, led by hostel superintendent for management of Hostel No 2 in absence of an elected students union at SBMC.
Abu Talib Muhammad Abdullah Maruf, SBMC unit BCL leader and vice president (VP) of the SWA, without consulting with others formed a committee of his own choice ignoring the opinion of their rival BCL faction, led by general secretary Anisur Rahman, on Sunday night.
