Three brokerage firms to face music

The securities regulator has imposed an aggregate amount of penalty worth Tk 0.4 million on three brokerage firms of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) for breaching the securities rules.
The decision was taken at a meeting held at the office of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Tuesday.
As per BSEC decision, HAC Securities will have to pay a penalty of Tk 0.2 million due to shortage of fund in consolidated customer account. The company also breached the securities rules by providing margin loans to the relatives of employees. The company also provided margin loans beyond stipulated limit.
Dynamic Securities Consultants will have to pay penalty worth Tk 0.1 million as the company breached the securities rules by providing netting facilities for 'Z' category shares.
Hedayetullah Securities will also have to pay penalty worth Tk 0.1 million as the company provided netting facilities for 'Z' category shares.
