Three cases filed in Khagrachhari

KHAGRACHHARI, Apr 19 (UNB): Three cases were filed with Manikchhari and Ramgarh police stations following Sunday's clash between indigenous people and Bangali settlers at Shankholapara in Ramgarh Upazila that left three people dead.
A case was filed with Manikchhari police station Monday afternoon for setting fire to the houses in Manikchhari area. The police filed two other cases -- one for murder and another for arson attack with Ramgarh police station.
Meanwhile, members of three-member probe committee, which was formed Monday night at the DC office led by Additional Deputy Commi-ssioner Md Salahuddin, went to the spot Tuesday morning for investigation.
Other members of the committee included Addi-tional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Delwar Hossain Saydee and Ramgarh Upazila Nirbahi Officer Gopal Chandra Das.
The troubled areas of Sangkhola Para, Baro Tilak, Kachu Baoanti, Mahamoni Para and Manikchhari are under section 144. Special forces of Army and police have been patrolling the area.
